Virgin blogger!

oh, the pressure of the first blog entry!!! who would've thought it would be so nerve-racking! must be catchy, quirky, interesting, funny and clever.....no wonder i've been putting it off for so long!

its our fourth day in marbella and we're lying around in our apartment, watching 'lethal weapon 4' dubbed in spanish. do spanish people really prefer this ridiculousness to subtitles...?
the apartment is a cute and fresh little 2 room space in the very centre of the old town of marbella. so when we walk out the front door were in a quaint little pebbled street full of cafe's and boutiques. we chanced upon this place while wandering the back streets and its such a beautiful area we decided to move in straight away....
our first night was spent in a horrible manky shithole of a hostel on the highway that didnt even have a name and wouldve been minus 1 star if it was rated, but cost the same amount as this one! we had a huge fight with the old man who ran it when we tried to check out a few hours too late and in the end he scammed 15 euros out of us for nothing. welcome to spain.

anyway the last few days have been spent looking for jobs... we've taken our CV's in to all the bar's that look half decent in puerto banus, which is the really swanky port area where all the rich and famous come and park their yachts to party, shop and play golf.. it seems like the best place to get a job, but its the end of the season and no-one 's hiring :o(

jerry's friend my, who lives in marbella, took us out partying to some places where she has connections and we left our CV's but nothing seems promising... at 'mambo club' i tracked down the sleazy argentinian manager to ask about a job and he pointed to the trashbags dancing on the podiums..... 'bailerina?' ....wink wink.
'no. bartender.'

after a few rejections from bar managers we decided to pull out the old yacht CV's and ask around on the docks... you never know when luck might strike! its been jerry's and my dream to work on a private yacht and we've had so many friends who've done it and made a fortune but we've never managed to get a foot in the door... and we don't today either :o(
we take sunday off and laze around on the beach. this is the life!
